Widowed
in her early 60s while full-time RV-ing with her husband, Lib Aventura
finds herself grief-stricken and "homeless", at least as her worried
adult children see it. They want her to sell the motor home and settle
down with or near them. Instead, she returns to the tiny campground
where she abandoned her motor home, not just to reclaim her vehicle
but somehow to rekindle her dreams of an independent and meaningful
retirement.

Face to face with her 34-foot vehicle, Lib realizes
the magnitude of what lies ahead. She has rarely driven the motor
home, has no idea how to hook it up or care for it. But then she
quickly discovers that her life is not the only one "in transit".
Campground owner Paul Lauden nursed his wife through a terminal
illness, but in the process lost both his career and the affection
of his son.
Annie Stavrous struggles to
support her family by running a north-woods diner after her husband
is accidentally paralyzed. Arvo, the elderly campground handyman,
lost his emotional compass after his wife died early in their
marriage. Although she sees herself only as a transient in this
isolated resort community, Lib has embarked on a remarkable journey
of self-discovery. She has choices and as she comes to trust her
ability to make them, she finds the strength to risk growing through
and beyond her grief, as well as the courage to redefine what it
means to be "home".
